At The Body Shed, where I proudly serve as Director and Coach, I blend years of hands-on experience with the latest evidence-based research to craft personalised programs and empowering workout sessions.
I am a graduate of The Centre for Performing Arts where I majored in early American modern dance. However, a terrible fall 36 weeks pregnant with my first child, that left me with 4 broken bones in my back, led me on a dedicated path of study and lifelong desire to help others not only reduce their chronic pain but become stronger in the most effective and functional way possible.
Having worked extensively in both Australia and the United States, I have cultivated a wealth of knowledge and expertise in strength and conditioning, holistic health and wellness and lifestyle management. From comprehensive screenings to personalised programming, rest assured, your body is in capable hands.
And what drives me every day? It’s not merely the physical conditioning , but the profound joy of witnessing my clients reclaiming their vitality and zest for life. It’s a privilege and a pleasure. “I have been training with Katherine (Kat) for nearly 8 years and hopefully for many more. Kat is an awesome trainer (and person) and I really look forward to my twice weekly sessions – even at 5.30 am.
I met Kat at the gym where I have been a member for many years and had a couple of different PT’s over the years. I did a Functional Flexibility class which Kat was running and was very impressed. So impressed that I joined up to her PT sessions. As I am getting older, Kat is very much aware of what I want to achieve and what is suitable for my body. I have a couple of health issues which we work around and I am so grateful for her understanding and experience in getting me stronger and fitter than before. Kat pushes me hard, and I have done things which I would never have done without her, the pinnacle being successfully completing the True Grit Obstacle Course. Kat also runs an amazing stretch class each week, which is the highlight of my Saturday mornings. Her new home studio is well equipped, spotlessly clean and as a bonus you get to choose your training music!
Kat is much more than my trainer she is a very dear friend.

The results speak for themselves. I have seen a steady improvement in all 3 areas. I know this because Kat tracks my progress and gives me regular reports but mostly because of how I feel, move and what I can now do.
Kat has mountains of knowledge and experience and puts them into practice. During our sessions, she is 100% focused on me, my needs and progress. She also adapts my program to the realities of life -tiredness, stress, stiffness from too much deskwork. Sometimes a full session of stretching is what works, at other times she encourages me to push through the boundaries of what I thought that I could do. Her approach is holistic and highly personalised.
Kat is a warm and inspiring person, a great communicator and lots of fun! The program and playlists vary from session to session, so I am always interested and challenged. When I first came to you I had stiffness and injury. You have worked on my flexibility and my strength. You nursed me through knee surgery recovery and I now have no pain in my knee. “About two years ago I had a serious back injury that left me unable to walk for nearly three months.
Just as I was (literally) getting back on my feet I developed a heart condition that cost me what little fitness I had left. I started putting on weight and I felt like my life was over.
When I found Kat I was looking for someone to help me rehabilitate my injury so that I could manage working again. She has done that and so much more for me.
Every time I have thought I was at my limit, she helped me push through it. I'm doing things I never thought I would be able to and I feel fitter and stronger than I did even before the injury.

Whilst training with Kat I was able to achieve my goals with ease from the continuing support not just physically through training but tips and guidance with nutrition and motivation.
